Overall:
Look at the vehicle as if you were pricing it yourself, paying attention to detail and items that make a difference in pricing.
Inspect everything that is mechanical and electrical.
Use the industry standard 1 – 10 grading scale (where applicable).
Boats/Power Sports:
At minimum know whether it runs or doesn’t run (some bass boat/outboard motors are worth as much as the boat itself…)
Determine that the compression in the cylinders is reasonable – hook up hose.
Only announce equipment if it is attached.
Check titling requirements in your state.
Consider advising accounts to begin winterizing in November.
RVs:
Generator is a big deal – make sure it runs and note if it’s gas or diesel.
Check for propane leaks – use a squirt bottle with soapy water to check for leaks or get a Propane leak tester from…
Check water system.
Check A/C. Note if there are water stains on ceiling or windows that could indicate a window leak.
Check levelers, extenders, and tires for match/wear.
Verify that the fire extinguisher is there.
Pay close attention to the cleanliness of the glass/windows.
Consider hiring a cleaning company (Merry Maids, Apartment cleaners, etc…) to clean up the inside.
Look up the weight in NADA.
Consider advising accounts to begin winterizing in November.
Motorcycles/Trailers:
Sell them running using licensed drivers.
Do compression check. Pull spark plugs and then start. Use a compression tester if needed.
Look for major scratches, dents and damage and note where it is located. Has it been dropped? Check tank and frame.
Check tires for match/wear.
Identify accessories like chrome, pipes, bore kits. Is it a custom bike?
Trailers (Boat & Motorcycles):
Determine the weight.

Does it have benches, hooks, tie-downs?
Does it have a compressor?
Note how many motorcycles it will hold.
